SUMMARY:SME Tampa Bay 2023 Student Scholarship Contest
DESCRIPTION:  \nThese scholarships provide dedicated and deserving students with additional funding to \nassist in successfully transitioning from high school to technical institutes\, community \ncolleges\, vocational schools\, colleges\, and universities. \n  \nScholarships in the following amounts will be awarded: \nHigh School:  $1\,500 first place\, $1100 second place\, 800 third place \nCollege/University: $1\,500 first place\, $1100 second place\, 800 third place \nHigh School/College/University Student Eligibility: \nSME Member in good standing (member number) \nHigh School or College/University Student \n500-word essay \nState of Florida resident or residing in Florida while attending a Florida school \nMinimum GPA of 2.5 (unweighted) on a 4.0 scale \nAcademic reference \n  \nApplicants must also plan to pursue a career in manufacturing or related engineering field of \nstudies such as Industrial Engineering\, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering \n  \nThe application must include a 500 maximum word essay answering the question “Where do \nyou expect to be in 10 years\, and what steps will you take to achieve this \nexpectation?” Winners will be notified by November 22nd. \n  \nPlease visit https://www.sme.org/sme-membership/join-sme to become an SME High School \nStudent or a College/University Student member.  \n  \nWe would like to thank our members and sponsors for making these scholarships possible. \nSpecial recognition goes to MasterCut Tool and the Shaluly Foundation for their generous \nsupport to student education.
